DePIN Site Qualifier — A Checklist for Cincinnati Businesses.

Before filling out a host application, run your location through the ten-factor scorecard below. The factors that actually predict whether a Helium-compatible deployment earns — and the five that don't.

NatiCrypto's hosting model is straightforward. Qualified Cincinnati-area businesses pay nothing upfront, NatiCrypto provides and installs eligible Helium-compatible equipment at no cost, the host receives 30% of generated rewards, and NatiCrypto earns from the remaining share. The question is not the economics — those are set. The question is whether your location is actually a fit.

Most location applications fail the scorecard at one of three places: line-of-sight, internet reliability, or surrounding network demand. The ten-factor scorecard below covers those three plus seven more. Score each factor honestly. The interpretation tiers at the end show what each score range usually means in practice.

The ten-factor scorecard

Score each factor 0, 1, or 2. Total possible: 20.

1. Line-of-sight from the installation spot

  • 2 — Strong: Clear, unobstructed sightlines for several blocks; rooftop or upper-window placement available.
  • 1 — Moderate: Window placement with partial obstruction; ground-floor exterior wall with some clearance.
  • 0 — Weak: Basement, interior wall only, or heavy nearby obstruction (taller buildings on all sides).

2. Elevation relative to surroundings

  • 2: Top-floor or rooftop in a low-rise neighborhood.
  • 1: Mid-floor in a mixed-height neighborhood.
  • 0: Ground floor surrounded by taller structures.

3. Internet reliability and bandwidth

  • 2: Fiber or reliable cable, low downtime, sufficient bandwidth headroom.
  • 1: DSL or shared cable with occasional outages.
  • 0: Frequent outages, hotspot-only, or no dedicated business connection.

4. Permission and installation access

  • 2: You own the property or have signed authority from the owner.
  • 1: Tenant with landlord permission process available.
  • 0: No clear path to install access.

5. Surrounding network demand (Mobile 5G)

  • 2: High pedestrian or vehicle traffic, residential density, or commercial activity within range.
  • 1: Moderate traffic, mixed-use neighborhood.
  • 0: Low-traffic industrial or rural location with little active usage nearby.

6. Power and equipment placement

  • 2: Dedicated outlet available near the installation spot; minor cabling.
  • 1: Power available but requires moderate routing.
  • 0: No reasonable power path to the installation spot.

7. Operating-hours visibility

  • 2: Premises is reachable for inspection or maintenance during normal business hours without special coordination.
  • 1: Reachable with notice.
  • 0: Restricted access or unusual hours that complicate service.

8. Local crypto and tech climate

  • 2: Active local user community, university nearby, or known DePIN-aware operators in the area.
  • 1: Mixed; neither hostile nor enthusiastic.
  • 0: Underdeveloped local interest; little neighborhood demand signal.

9. Stability of the location for a multi-year deployment

  • 2: Owned property or long-term lease (3+ years remaining).
  • 1: Lease with 1–3 years remaining.
  • 0: Short lease or planning to relocate within twelve months.

10. Operational tolerance for minor coordination

  • 2: Owner or manager can approve installation and access with minimal back-and-forth.
  • 1: Some approval friction but resolvable.
  • 0: Heavy approval committee, frequent staff turnover, or no clear point of contact.

Score interpretation

  • 17–20 — Strong fit: Submit a host application. The scorecard predicts a high likelihood of qualification and earning at typical network rates.
  • 12–16 — Probable fit: Worth a conversation. NatiCrypto can usually identify whether a 1-point factor is closable before the deployment commits.
  • 7–11 — Marginal: The deployment may earn, but the location is unlikely to be a top performer. Worth a candid conversation about expectations.
  • 0–6 — Weak fit: The location is unlikely to clear qualification. The honest answer is usually no — the scorecard prevents both sides from wasting time on a deployment that will under-perform.

What hosting actually pays

At current Helium network rates as of 2026, an IoT hotspot in a moderate-traffic area typically generates a few dollars per month. A Mobile 5G hotspot in a well-trafficked location can generate materially more, depending on coverage demand and active users in range. The host's 30% share is a meaningful offset against a location that was going to host equipment anyway — not a primary revenue line.

Rewards vary with location, real-world usage, technical conditions, network rules, token economics, and uptime. The responsible way to evaluate a host site is by suitability — line-of-sight, elevation, traffic, power, connectivity — not by an income projection. Past activity does not predict future rewards.

What the host provides vs. what NatiCrypto provides

  • Host provides: Qualified location, internet access, suitable installation spot, permission for equipment placement, basic coordination for installation and access.
  • NatiCrypto provides: Free setup and installation, free monitoring and management, eligible equipment planning, maintenance and network performance review, reward-share reporting.
  • Cost to the host: $0 upfront. No monthly fee. Internet bandwidth is the host's existing connection.
  • Reward share: 30% to the host, the remainder to NatiCrypto.

The qualification timeline

  1. Submit qualification: Brief location notes via the form on the DePIN / Helium page.
  2. Initial review (1–3 business days): NatiCrypto evaluates against the scorecard and current network coverage.
  3. Site visit or virtual walkthrough (within two weeks): Confirm line-of-sight, power, internet, and installation logistics.
  4. Deployment (within four weeks of confirmation): Equipment provisioned, installed, and brought online.
  5. Monthly reward share reporting: Transparent accounting of generated rewards and the 30% host share.
